Monthly Club Meetings

The general meeting agenda is:

  • 6:30-7:00 – Setup, registration, Show & Tell setup, socialization
  • 7:00-7:15 – Business Meeting
  • 7:15-7:45 – Show & Tell
  • 7:45-9:00 – Featured Demonstration/Presentation

Prior to each meeting, we hold an Open Carve and Skills Enhancement session from 3:00-5:30 pm where members socialize, work on personal carving projects and can participate in activities to improve individual skills and techniques.  in 2024, we will offer quarterly Sharpening Clinics as part of the Skills Enhancement Program where we help diagnose issues with individual sharpening techniques. Bring your individual carving tools, sharpening supplies and learn how to take them to the next level of sharpness which is crucial for effective carving.

  • January 15, 2026. MCC program  “Chip Carving”  A presentation by  Li Lee. 
  • February 19, 2026. MCC program  “Northwestern Carving”  Ed Kerns presentation. 
  • March 19, 2026. MCC program  “Face carving – Hair and Noses” a carve along project led by John Laffan. This is the start of our multi-meeting carve along instructions for Face carving.
  • April 16,2026.  MCC program  “Face carving – Ears” a carve along project led by Dale Hall
  • May 21, 2026. MCC program.  “Face carving – Eyes” a carve along project led by Ed Kerns
  • June 18, 2026.   MCC program.   “Face carving – Lips  and Mouths” a carve along project 
  • July 16, 2026.  MCC program “Carving tips from members and Montgomery County Fair primer” 
  • August  Join us at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. Aug 7-15.

2026 Virtual Open Carve

MCC holds monthly Virtual Carving Sessions via Zoom from 3:00-5:30pm on the First Thursday of each month. Members get together via Zoom to carve, collaborate and just enjoy the camaraderie. an email is sent at the first of each month with details for connecting via Zoom.
